GradFax should work for every student, including students using a screen reader, voice control, keyboard-only navigation, or who need higher contrast text.

The Short Version

We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We are not perfect yet. If something on GradFax is hard to use with assistive technology, tell us and we will fix it, we treat accessibility reports as real bugs, not feedback to file away.

Our Standard

We build GradFax against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard most commonly used to judge whether a website is accessible under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). That means, among other things: every interactive control (search boxes, filters, sliders, buttons) has a name assistive technology can read, text has enough contrast against its background to be readable, pages have a sensible heading structure, and the site is usable from a keyboard alone.

What We've Done

GradFax runs automated accessibility audits (axe-core and Pa11y, both built on the same WCAG rule set used industry-wide) against key pages including the homepage, school search, and cost calculator. The most recent pass, September 11, 2026, found and fixed unlabeled search and filter controls across the search and calculator pages, and low-contrast text across the homepage, search, and footer. Automated tools catch a real and meaningful slice of issues, not all of them, this is ongoing work, not a one-time fix.

Known Limits

Our audits so far cover a handful of key pages, not every page and every state of the product (for example, every filter combination or modal). If you hit a barrier anywhere on GradFax, including a page we have not audited yet, please report it using the contact below.
